About Glendale

Glendale is a living museum of 19th-century American community design — one of the oldest planned suburban communities in the United States, established in 1855 as a railroad suburb of Cincinnati. The entire village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and walking its streets feels like stepping back in time.

The architecture is Glendale's crown jewel. Italianate villas, Gothic Revival cottages, Queen Anne mansions, and Federal-style homes line curving streets beneath a magnificent canopy of old-growth trees. Many homes retain original architectural details — ornate woodwork, stained glass, wraparound porches — that simply cannot be replicated at any price.

The Village Square serves as the community's heart, with locally-owned shops, the historic Glendale Lyceum (a community gathering space), and seasonal events. The annual Fourth of July celebration is a village tradition that draws generations of families. Glendale's village governance maintains a fierce commitment to historic preservation, ensuring the community's character endures.

Homes in Glendale offer remarkable value for the architectural quality — where else can you find an Italianate villa with original details at this level? The trade-off is the Princeton City School District, which is solid but doesn't carry the name recognition of Indian Hill or Sycamore.
